There are a number gambling halls located in the commonwealth, most on anchored riverboats. The biggest of the Iowa gambling halls is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an Indian gambling den in Tama, with 127,669 sq.ft. of casino room, 1,500 slots, thirty table games, such as twenty-one, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and many varieties of poker; also three eatery’s, biweekly shows, and casino instructions. A further substantial Indian gambling den is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 slots, and fourteen table games. Additionally, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is available 24 hours, with 38,500 sq.ft., 1,589 one armed bandits, 36 table games, and four dining rooms. There are many other popular Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A smaller Iowa casino is the Diamond Jo, a paddle wheel boat gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend river boat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. One more Iowa river boat gambling hall, The Isle of Capri, is available all day and night, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slots, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot water based casino in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday vingt-et-un events.

Iowa casinos provide a great deal of tax money to the state government of Iowa, which has enabled the funding of a good many state wide activities. Tourism has increased at an accelerated rate along with the demand for services and a growth in employment. Iowa gambling halls have been helpful to the growth of the market, and the excitement for betting in Iowa is across the board.
